This highly modified SRT8 powered 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee sits on a 3” lifted suspension with 37” tires and is just at home on the highway as it is on the rocks. Typically on a 3” lifted 2005-2010 Grand Cherokee (WK), you’d be limited to 33” tires with some minor modifications to the pinch-weld and fender liners in the front wheel wells. On this project the body was modified to fit 37” tires. The fender openings were opened up by 1.5” all around and a 3/16” steel strip was welded in to ensure strength of the fender lip. Next the firewall was pushed back and plated in the front and the rear inner fender wells were opened up. The 05-07 ARB bull bar was modified by shortening it 3” closer to the body, welding in some 08+ headlight fillers, and building a winch cradle in-place of the factory crossmember. This allows for an increased approach angle and a cleaner look overall. The rear bumper was custom fabricated out of 3/16” steel and designed to compliment the front ARB while allowing the center-exit Borla exhaust to sit as high as possible. Lastly, everything (including the engine bay) was painted Aston Martin “AM Racing Green.”

A extremely clean 69k mile SRT8 6.1L was installed along with long-tube headers, MDS coils, K&N intake, all new accessories, and a custom tune. The RFE545 transmission received new filters and the NP245 transfecase received new seals. A brand new Mopar driveshaft sends power to the front axle and a custom Tom Woods driveshaft sends power to the rear. To accommodate the 37” tires, the axles were updated with Nitro 4.10 gears and a rear ARB air locker. To counter the increase in power and larger tires, SRT8 Brembo brakes were fitted behind the AEV Savegre II wheels.

The extremely clean interior was updated with countless new old stock Mopar parts and accessories along with a custom 900 watt stereo with a modified rare factory subwoofer and an Alpine wireless apple car play head unit. The carpet was replaced with a NOS Mopar carpet, new floor mats (carpet and 2x sets of Mopar slush mats), and a rare dark khaki Mopar rear cargo area slush mat. The seat bottoms were reupholstered and SRT-8 trim pieces replaced the factory wood grain (also included). Many of the parts installed and/or included are no longer available.

Mileage/Damage Disclaimer:

I have just been made aware of a 24,098 mile odometer discrepancy (thanks to the Ebay Experian AutoCheck), it appears the dealer that I purchased the Jeep from may have modified the odometer. At the time of purchase there were no red flags, but according to the Ebay AutoCheck, the Jeep sold at auction 22 days prior to my purchase with 195,094 miles and I purchased the Jeep with 170,996 miles. I have no way of knowing if the milage was misreported or the dealer or auction did something shady. The good news is that the Jeep has been completely rebuilt since then and not much of the original vehicle remains.

The Ebay AutoCheck also lists a minor collision or damage reported early in the Jeep’s life. Having torn the vehicle apart completely, the only non-original parts I found were a replacement passenger side front fender and passenger mirror. There is absolutely zero damage to any part of the unibody/frame structure. Additionally, the Jeep has been TX owned for the majority of its life and has zero rust!
