1996 Jeep Cherokee Country 4×4 with the 4.0L inline-6 and automatic transmission. Approximately 203,000 miles. Clean title in hand. $2,500 OBO.

Selling as a non-running project vehicle. The Jeep has been sitting in my garage for several years. It has a very straight body for its age and has no exterior rust that I’m aware of. It was never used for off-roading.

The engine cranks and will briefly fire/run for a few seconds, but will not stay running. The Jeep currently has no fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and the remaining fuel-delivery/electrical issue has not been diagnosed.

Recent fuel-system work:
– New fuel pump installed
– New fuel filter installed
– A clogged section of fuel line was found and replaced
– Jeep still currently has no fuel pressure at the rail
– Exact cause of the remaining problem is unknown
I am not claiming the fuel pump is the final issue; the vehicle is being sold as a project for someone who wants to diagnose and repair it

The engine has repeatedly shown that it will fire briefly when fuel is manually introduced, but it does not continue running.

Other recent work/maintenance:
– Brand-new battery
– Fresh gasoline added
– Coolant recently added/topped off
– Oil recently added/topped off
– Battery terminals checked/cleaned
– Basic mechanical diagnosis performed

Exterior:
The body is remarkably straight for a 1996 Cherokee.

– No major body damage
– No exterior rust that I’m aware of
– Minor scratches/cosmetic imperfections consistent with age
– Small scratches on the rear from removing an old/faded sticker
– Never used for off-roading
– Original Country trim/body configuration
– Grille and wheels have been painted/customized
– Aftermarket CURT trailer hitch installed
– Hitch ball/mount included separately

Interior:
I have spent quite a bit of time cleaning the interior, including shampooing the seats/carpets and cleaning the cargo area, hatch and door panels.

Known interior issues:
– Headliner had deteriorated and was removed because the material was sagging/flaking
– Aftermarket radio was removed because it was not properly secured; no original radio included
– Driver’s seat has wear/damage
– Vehicle was previously smoked in; a cigarette odor remains
– Normal cosmetic wear for a nearly 30-year-old vehicle

Electrical/features
Known working items include:
– Headlights
– High beams
– Tail lights
– Brake lights
– Hazard lights
– Dome/interior lights
– Blower fan

Known issues:

– Power windows are slow
– Driver’s door must be fully closed for the windows to operate
– A/C was not functional when I owned the vehicle
– Blower works, but the vehicle does not currently appear to produce heat; this has not been fully diagnosed
– Reverse lights could not be checked
– Fuel gauge/sender is unreliable; low-fuel light remains illuminated despite fresh fuel
– No other warning lights are currently known to be illuminated

Included:
– Clean title โ€” no lien
– 3 keys
– Jeep owner’s manual
– Jeep-branded manual bag
– Aftermarket CURT trailer hitch
– Hitch ball/mount

Important:
This is a NON-RUNNING PROJECT VEHICLE.

The engine cranks and briefly fires but does not stay running. There is currently no fuel pressure at the fuel rail despite replacement of the fuel pump, fuel filter, and a clogged section of fuel line. The remaining problem has not been diagnosed.

The vehicle has no current plates/tags and will need to be transported/towed.

I am selling it as-is, where-is, with no warranty. Buyer is welcome to inspect the vehicle and perform their own due diligence before purchase.
