Up for sale is this highly modified 1989 Jeep Comanche Pioneer. Not much remains of the original Comanche other than the body shell, bed, a few interior panels, and hood. A donor 1999 Cherokee (post face-lift) provided the interior, doors, fenders and grill along with a few sections of the firewall. Lastly the engine is out of a 1999 Corvette with 60k miles. Almost everything else is NEW and Mopar or AC Delco replacement parts were used to the max extent possible. The displayed odometer milage is the actual Comanche body milage (original cluster included). And I have driven approximately 2k miles since completion of the build. Over $65,000 was invested in parts alone! A lot of time was spent to ensure this build felt like something Jeep could have produced and not an old haphazardly V8 swapped Jeep. The body was modified with Notch Customs cut-out fender flares, and JCR bumpers, rock rails, and tire carrier. The door jambs were modified to accept the ’99XJ door strikers and the firewall was heavily modified to accept the ‘99XJ HVAC, steering shaft, body harness, and brake master cylinder. Additionally, functional ’98 5.9L Limited ZJ hood vents were added to help with engine cooling. The Jeep is painted in BMW’s Austin Yellow with a black Raptor Liner spray-in Bed liner. For the drivetrain, the low milage LS1 V8 was cleaned up with new gaskets, a Holley high-mount accessory drive, and Holley oil pan. Novak provided the engine mounts and transmission adapter. A new clutch and flywheel were added along with a brand new Aisin AX-15 5-speed manual transmission. The ’99 XJ’s NP-231 transfer case was rebuilt with all new seals, a new chain, and a Novak slip yoke eliminator. A Tom Woods driveshaft sends front power to a Spicer Dana 44 crate axle (in JK spec) with 4.88 gears and an e-locker. In the rear a Adams driveshaft sends power to a custom Currie Dana 60 with an Auburn e-locker and 4.88 gears. Steering is accomplished through a PSC steering box (ported for future expandability), Clayton drop pitman arm, Metalcloak drag link and tie rod with a Fox steering stabilizer. The exceptional braking is done by 6 piston Wilwood JK big brakes in the front and 4 piston Wilwood big brakes in the rear. They are finished in competition blue. Lastly all new stainless hard lines and braided soft lines along with a new brake booster and ZJ (factory 4 disc) proportioning valve were added. The front suspension
